James 1 says, “Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world.”
If we want to be what God has purposed for us, this is how it looks. As we grow in our relationship with Jesus and mature as Christians we become an expression of His love to the marginalized and outcast. Extending his Grace to the lonely and destitute. It is the heart of God to reach out to those in need. In need spiritually, physically, financially, and relationally.
You can have religion, that “attempt at righteousness through ritual and morality”. Or you can have a relationship with Jesus and experience true religion as Jesus expresses Himself and His Spirit through you.
What are some practical ways you see this happening in your life?
