As I sit here in my hotel room thinking about what to write, I can’t find the words. The last two days have been profound in so many ways. We have had the opportunity to spend time with kids who have lost their parents, and have been taken in by two of the best people I have ever met.
I have seen the personification of the word hero. Two people, Pastors, who have dedicated their lives to the care of children who have been thrown on the trash heap of life, and no one wanted. Oh and its not just for the kids. Although he loves the kids and is a wonderful dad. But He said something today that was profound. He said one of the reasons that they do this and they can keep doing this, is because they know that when people see that Christians will take these kids in and help them get an education, clothes, food, care. It sends a message Jesus is the answer. This is just another way for him to witness of the Gospel with his life.
It was sad to leave the kids today, but at the same time it felt so good to be able to reach out to them and show them the love of Jesus. The future leaders of tomorrow are very possibly living in the hope center, I’m so glad that we are taking the time to mentor them and provide for them. They are little dreamers and they will make a difference in the earth.
